Nixa, Missouri has become a boom town in the early 1990's and is a builder's paradise. The fescue fields around us have sprouted residential subdivisions.

The Christian County seat of Ozark lies 5 miles to the east of us at the junction of US Highway 65 and Missouri Highway 14. South of us approximately 30 miles lies Branson, Missouri. An exploding metropolis and country music capitol which also claims a place to fame with its many factory outlet malls and stores. This small town alone captures over five million visitors each year.

Our own city of Nixa sports a Motel 8, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Sonic Drive In, Otts Pasta, Smitty's Supermarket and Restaurant, 5 strip malls, and a 1996 population of over nine thousand inhabitants within the city limits. Our fourth class city consists of a mayor and a board of six aldermen, and the daily operations are overseen by a city administrator. Residential growth has been so phenomenal that it has caused our schools to be bursting at the seams with children of all ages. Notwithstanding such phenomenal growth, we have a school system which is among the best in the state of Missouri.
